Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
The objective of the course is to gain professional knowledge and practical for making research, writing, presentation, and defence of professional texts. The graduate of the course is able to apply advanced research methods.
Learning outcomes
After the successful completion of the course, students are able to:
- solve complicated research task with open end,
- to apply systematic approach to solve research task,
- write research paper or these according to the role of economic community,
- make quality presentation,
- defend his (her) research and research paper.

  • 1. a. Science, development, and research, their importance and functions, current trends of empirical research, current discourse.
  • 1. b. Selection of a topic (of the professional text). Registration in National Library of Technology. Basics and principles of research and creative work. Copyright and plagiarism.
  • 2. Analysis of individual types of professional texts. VŠTE library, searching in databases.
  • 3. Title and introduction.
  • 4. Literary research – first phase.
  • 5. Literary research – second phase.
  • 6. Hypotheses or research questions.
  • 7. Methodology in points.
  • 8. Methodology in the text.
  • 9. Results.
  • 10. Discussion of results – formulation of basic findings.
  • 11. Discussion of results – completion.

Exam conditions
The evaluation of the course consists of 100% of the final written test, which must be completed at least 70%. Total classification of the subject, ie points for the test (100 - 0): A 100 – 90, B 89,99 – 84, C 83,99 – 77, D 76,99 – 73, E 72,99 – 70, FX 69,99 – 30, F 29,99 – 0.

Final test:

Final test - 100 % (i.e. 100 points)

Attendance in the course is defined in a separate VSTE internal standard (Evidence of student attendance at VSTE) for all forms of study. Information for students with an ISP (Individual Study Plan). If a student with an ISP is unable to attend the interim assessment of a course, he/she will complete the interim assessment at a time agreed with the teacher. A student with an Individual Study Plan is required to contact the instructor immediately upon approval of the ISP. If the student fails to do so, his/her ISP will not be considered. Students with an ISP may contact the course advisor via email at vochozka@mail.vstecb.cz if they have any questions.
