Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
The objective of the course is to get knowledge of the region, its assets, advantages, disadvantages, threats and opportunities. Emphasis is placed on understanding the Region as a global system with particular regional and historical specifics.
Learning outcomes
Having finished the course successfully, the student will:
- know the cultural, political and economic history of the South Bohemian Region,
- understand the current cultural, political situation of the South Bohemian Region,
- understand the operation of the Region as a system, i. e. its internal organisation and relations to other regions of the Czech Republic,
- define the position of the South Bohemian Region within European area,
- know basic tools of European regional policy applied in the South Bohemian Region, and appraise their concrete applicability in practice,

Exam conditions
The course assessment is comprised of the continuous assessment (30 – 0 points) and the final test (70 – 0 points). The total assessment makes the sum of continuous assesement points and result of the final test. The total course assessment, i. e. points for the test (70 -0) + continuous assessment points (30 - 0): A 100 – 90, B 89,99 – 84, C 83,99 – 77, D 76,99 – 73, E 72,99 – 70, FX 69,99 – 30, F 29,99 - 0.

70 % attendance at seminars and exercises is compulsory for daily students.

Course test:

Fulfilling continuous tasks - 5 % (i.e. 5 points)

essay (10 Standard page) - 25 % (i.e. 25 points)

Final test:

Final test - 70 % (i.e. 70 points)

Lectures will be realized via MS Teams in real time according to the relevant timetable. The lectures will be also recorded and made available for part-time students in the VSTE IS.

Seminars will be realized via MS Teams in real time according to the relevant timetable.

The attendance in the lessons in all forms of study is dealt with by a special internal standard (Registration of VŠTE students attendance). 70 % attendance at seminars and exercises is compulsory for daily students.
