Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to supplement or acquire knowledge and practical skills in the use of information technologies in the extent corresponding to advanced users with further deepened knowledge in the areas of algorithms and algorithmization of tasks, data processing, programming basics and IS / ICT management. Upon successful completion of this course, the student understands concepts related to database technologies. It can work database applications efficiently using their advanced features including data search tools. They can also algorithmize tasks corresponding to the complexity of their overall knowledge and create simple programs for their solution. The student is also able to orientate in the field of business IS.
Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student understands and is able to explain key concepts related to databases. Can work with databases and can use data search tools. Furthermore, he / she is able to algorithmize tasks not only in the area of ​​informatics corresponding to the complexity of his / her overall knowledge and to write proposed algorithms in the standard form of flowcharts. It also manages the transformation of IT algorithms into executable programs. He also knows the principles of corporate IS / ICT systems administration. He / she can use his / her abilities in further studies as well as in practice.
Syllabus
  • 1-2. Algorithms and data structures - algorithm, process and data structures, flowcharts.
  • 3-5. Fundamentals of algorithmization - algorithmization of tasks, basic algorithmic procedures, means for description of algorithms.
  • 6-8. Fundamentals of programming - program and programming languages, basics of PHP language, basics of Arduino platform programming.
  • 9-10. Working with data - data and databases, relational databases, SQL, data analysis and design
  • 11-12. Other database models, work with MS Access and graphical database.
  • 13. Business informatics - IS in organization, strategic management of IS / IT, system integration, Business Intelligence.

Test – final 70 %
Exam conditions
Continuous test - scoring will be in the range of 0 - 30 points. The content of the test are practical tasks and a questionnaire on the topic of algorithms and algorithmization. Final test - form of the ROPOT, with possible supplementation by practical tasks, carried out in the examination period. The maximum number of points is 70. The content of this test will be all topics discussed in lectures and seminars not included in the midterm test. Points for both tests are added up. Total classification of the course, ie points for test (70 - 0) + points from continuous evaluation (30 - 0): A 100 - 90, B 89.99 - 84, C 83.99 - 77, D 76.99 - 73, E 72.99-70, FX 69.99-30, F 29.99-0.

Attendance in lessons is defined in a separate internal standard of ITB (Evidence of attendance of students at ITB). It is compulsory, except of the lectures, for full-time students to attend 70 % lesson of the subjet in a semester.
