The student masters the range of mathematics courses (MAT_1, MAT_z, MAT_a or MAT). - Course Enrolment Limitations
- The course is offered to students of any study field.
- Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
- The aim of the course is to provide students with knowledge of the possibility of mathematical applications in engineering (ie. Economic practice) of linear algebra, differential and integral calculus of functions of one variable, differential equations, probability and financial mathematics.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course, students individually solve applied problems from subject matter (from linear algebra, differential and integral calculus of functions of one variable, differential equations, probability and financial mathematics). Students are able to make simple mathematical models for application problems.
- Syllabus
- 1. - 2. Applications of matrices calculus (e.g., cryptography) 3. Applications of differentiations. 4. - 5. Local extremes of real functions (volume, costs, path length …) 6. - 7. Applications of integral calculus (geometric and physical) – 2 seminars 8. Applications of ordinary differential equations of 1st order, separation of variables (decline, growing population, …) – 1 seminar, 9. Applications of ordinary linear differential equations of 1st order 10. Applications of ordinary differential equations of higher order with constant coefficients 11. probability (calculation for gambling, conditional probability) 12. - 13. Financial mathematics (simple interest rate, compound interest, ...)
